This event will provide insights into regional progress, highlight key challenges and opportunities, and share updates on collaborative initiatives such as Regions Rise Together and Uplift Central Coast—efforts focused on advancing economic opportunity, workforce development, and inclusive growth across our region.

Jon Haveman is widely considered to be one of California’s leading experts on the economics of seaports, goods movement, and international trade policy. He is also an expert in regional economies and local economic development. He is currently a Principal with Marin Economic Consulting, a boutique consultancy providing reports to government agencies, economic development organizations, and other organizations, in addition to providing expert witness services in legal proceedings. Prior to joining Marin Economic Consulting, Dr. Haveman was the Chief Economist at the Bay Area Council Economic Institute, a founding Principal at Beacon Economics, and the Director of the Economy Program at the Public Policy Institute of California. Executive Vice President, Director of Research, Monetary policy, Business cycles, and International Finance
FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF SAN FRANCISCO
In this role, Sylvain oversees the development of key research inputs and analyses to inform the monetary policy decision-making process. Sylvain also serves on the Bank’s Executive Committee in charge of strategic direction and policy for the 12th District. Previously, Sylvain served as vice president of Microeconomic and Macroeconomic Research and in 2018 as senior vice president and associate director of Economic Research. Read more…
