Organization Overview
Monterey Bay Economic Partnership (MBEP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, member-supported organization serving Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito Counties. As a regional convener MBEP brings together public, private, and civic partners to strengthen economic vitality and improve quality of life across the Monterey Bay region. MBEP is a recognized leader in broadband access, digital inclusion, and regional collaboration, supporting projects that expand digital literacy, broadband adoption, and equitable access to technology for all residents.
Position Summary
MBEP seeks bilingual (English/Spanish) Digital Navigators to provide personalized, one-on-one digital support to residents at each community Hub as part of a grant-funded digital inclusion initiative. Digital Navigators will help residents build practical digital skills, including basic computer and internet use, email and account setup, and device troubleshooting, and will help residents access telehealth, employment, education, and government services online. Digital Navigators will also help residents compare broadband plans, identify affordable options, check eligibility for low-cost programs and provider discounts, and complete broadband enrollment.
Digital Navigators will provide approximately 1,000 hours of support over the two-year project period, roughly 42 hours per month across three Hubs. These hours will be used flexibly based on each community’s needs, combining recurring drop-in hours where residents can get help without an appointment, scheduled 1:1 appointments for more individualized support, and workshops and community events focused on digital skills and broadband access. The exact schedule and mix of services will be tailored to each host site based on resident demand, operating hours, and community needs.
