Alia Elyas

Policy & Research Associate

Alia Elyas is a Monterey County local who is excited to use her education and skills to help create positive change for all within the Monterey Bay region.

Alia previously worked at EF Education First, California State University, Monterey Bay and interned with the Earth Rights Institute. During her internship with the Earth Rights Institute Alia aided in the production of the institute’s first ever international virtual forum by working in collaboration with the UCLA African Studies Center and the Bruin Home Solutions Organization where she also had the honor of interviewing many notable speakers including Elizabeth Whatuti of the Green Generation Initiative and the ambassador of Sierra Leone, Sidique Abou-Bakarr Wai.


Alia received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Visual and Performing Arts Education from the University of California, Los Angeles. In her free time, she enjoys reading, painting, and dancing.
