Monterey Bay Economic Partnership (MBEP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, member-supported organization serving Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito Counties. As a regional convener MBEP brings together public, private, and civic partners to strengthen economic vitality and improve quality of life across the Monterey Bay region. MBEP is a recognized leader in broadband access, digital inclusion, and regional collaboration, supporting projects that expand digital literacy, broadband adoption, and equitable access to technology for all residents. MBEP recognizes that technology is a primary engine for long-term economic growth primarily for increasing productivity, and through several interconnected channels including broadband, automation, e-commerce, etc.
Position Summary
MBEP seeks a driven and highly organized individual to serve to support the planning, implementation, and management of multiple regional technology projects. This is an implementation-focused role in a fast paced environment ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, community-minded, and comfortable managing multiple projects in collaboration with diverse partners.
This role will work closely with MBEP’s Director for Technology & Digital Access and serve as a key project management lead for grant-funded digital inclusion and technology programs. The Project Manager will oversee the day-to-day coordination of digital skills and broadband access projects, support partner and vendor management, track deliverables and outcomes, assist with grant reporting, scheduling, and help ensure projects remain on schedule, compliant, and impactful. While the role will primarily support state-funded digital inclusion initiatives, it is intentionally designed to be flexible and contribute to MBEP’s digital infrastructure and economic development efforts as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Program Management
- Support the implementation and management of multiple digital inclusion and broadband adoption projects
- Maintain project timelines, workplans, and tracking tools to ensure milestones, deliverables, and reporting requirements are met.
- Coordinate logistics for program activities such as digital literacy cohorts, community hub operations, training, and outreach events.
- Monitor project progress and flag risks, delays, or capacity needs early
Partner & Contractor Coordination
- Serve day-to-day point of contact for community-based partners, Digital Navigators, instructors, vendors, and host sites.
- Coordinate schedules, deliverables, and expectations with subcontractors and partner organizations.
- Support onboarding, communication, scheduling, and documentation for instructors, Digital Navigators, and volunteers.
Data Tracking, Reporting, & Compliance
- Maintain accurate program records, including:
- Participant enrollment and intake data
- Attendance and service logs
- Broadband adoption and internet subscription outcomes
- Assist with grant reporting, documentation, and compliance for state and other funding sources.
- Support data collection and organization for audits, monitoring, and internal evaluation.
Outreach & Community Engagement Support
- Support outreach planning and tracking in collaboration with community partners.
- Assist with logistics for workshops, drop-in help hours, and public-facing program activities.
- Represent MBEP at meetings, trainings, and community events as needed.
Cross Program Support
- Provide project management and administrative support across MBEP’s broader technology, digital access, and broadband initiatives.
- Assist with internal coordination across MBEP programs and additional duties assigned as needed, including Central Coast Broadband Consortium and Central Coast Digital Access Coalition efforts.
Desired Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Communications, Social Sciences, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience managing projects or programs, preferably in community-based, nonprofit, public sector, or grant-funded environments.
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Comfort working with data tracking tools (Google Workspace, Asana, spreadsheets, online forms).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse partners, including community organizations, local governments, educators and service providers.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) and regional knowledge are strong pluses.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and community centered approaches.
- Ability to travel throughout Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito Counties.
Location: Candidate must be located in Santa Cruz, Monterey, or San Benito County; Hybrid.
Salary Range: $70,000-85,000 Salary commensurate with experience
Classification: Exempt, Full-Time Position (35-40 hours per week)
