Regions Rise Together Salinas Moves Forward

To attain truly inclusive economic development, it’s important to ensure that all communities in the Salinas Valley engage and participate, particularly those that have significantly less access to economic mobility and decision-making processes.

Paving the way to an economic development plan that benefits the entire region through the Regions Rise Together Salinas initiative, community-based organizations such as Building Healthy Communities (BHC), the Center for Community Advocacy, Communities Organized for Relational Power in Action (COPA), and Mujeres en Acción have been working to center resident voices in planning processes, building in ways to remove barriers of participation for those most impacted by inequities in our community that are not normally engaged in decision-making processes.

MBEP launched the initiative in February 2020 with the support of CA Forward and the James Irvine Foundation
