EPA funds climate change research and modeling tools to improve knowledge of the health and environment effects of climate change, and provide sustainable solutions for communities to effectively manage and reduce the impacts of a changing climate.
U.S Climate Resilience Toolkit
The U.S Climate Resilience Toolkit offers a variety of funding opportunities for local climate adaptation and resilience projects that draw on a range of public and private financing. For instance, groups may apply for federal grant funding, work through public/private partnerships, and/or fund projects through local taxes.
Monterey Bay Air and Resources Districts Grants
The Monterey Bay Air and Resources District administers a wide variety of grant programs to incentivize projects that clean our air and reduce health impacts. Funding is primarily focused on mobile source projects that reduce or eliminate pollution from cars, trucks, marine vessels, agricultural equipment, construction equipment and for projects that encourage the use of low emissions or zero emissions transportation such as vanpools and electric vehicle replacements.The grants included are: The Monterey Bay Electric Vehicle Incentive Program, The Deisel Engine and Equipment Replacement Program, Public Agency Grants, Zero Emisson School Bus Program and the Wood Stove Change Out Program
California FarmLink Loans
California FarmLink provides access to capital for small- and mid-sized farms in California. Many of their borrowers are organic farmers, immigrants, women, and farmers of color. FarmLink make direct loans as well as referrals to alternative sources of financing – all based on the needs of farmers and ranchers.
The California Public Utilities Commission authorized the California investor-owned utilities to collaborate with certain state agencies in the development of energy efficiency financing programs and to assist in building awareness about them. They will help you find contractors, public assistance and financing for homeowners, renters, affordable multi family developors and small business owners and tenants.
